A seasoned industry professional Helen has over twenty-five years’ experience in the medical device industry including as Chief Executive Officer of Creganna Medical and Product Development and Research roles at Medtronic and Covidien. Throughout her impressive career to date she has demonstrated the ability to scale, including driving international sales, acquiring and integrating companies, establishing strategic joint ventures and raising of debt and equity financing. During her eight years as CEO of Creganna Medical the company grew five-fold, to become the largest indigenous medical device company. (Creganna medical was subsequently acquired by TE Connectivity for $895m in 2016)
Helen now works with Irish companies supporting them to start and scale. She acts as a strategic advisor to Atlantic Bridge Ventures on their University Bridge Fund and serves as a director for a number of portfolio companies. She serves as a director for Enterprise Ireland and PM Group, has been involved in numerous government-led enterprise initiatives, and works as an advisor and director for a number of charities.
Helen has a Bachelor of Engineering from NUI Galway, a Masters in Project Management from the University of Limerick, and has completed a Senior Executive Programme at Stanford University. Helen has received an honorary Doctorate from NUIG, a Life Fellowship from IMI, and is a fellow of the Institute of Engineers of Ireland and a member of the Irish Academy of Engineers.
